Contract with Siemens Oil and Gas - Ongoing
AKA was sub-contracted to provide our AGP system, the 110VDC UPS for the 11kV Main Switchboard, the Diesel Engine Control Panels, and SIPLINK controllers; essentially the entire electrical work scope in the same configuration as that delivered for the Discoverer 534 drill ship. Both the 534 and the Discoverer Clear Leader have been completed.
Short Distance Ferries - Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL)
Contract with CMAL - Spring 2009
AKA conducted duty cycle and power requirement testing for CMAL on two of its short distance ferries, the Loch Striven and the Shapinsay. The purpose of the testing was to assess the potential for hybrid technology on CMAL’s ferries which service the west coast of Scotland.
Deepwater Millennium - DP2 Class Drillship
Contract with Transocean - Rio de Janiero, Summer 2009
AKA has been contracted by Transocean to provide the AKA Advanced Generator Protection system, AKA’s InnoVision Supervisory PLC and HMI, Redundant Power Supply and Monitoring System, deviceTRAK and the documentation package for the vessel’s power system. Brazil poses special challenges as a work environment for the AGP upgrade, but AKA’s extensive work experience in the region, plus well-developed expertise in AGP upgrades, is expected to keep schedule and cost risks at bay.
Discoverer Enterprise - DP2 Class Drillship
Contract with Transocean - Gulf of Mexico, Spring 2009
This is the first vessel to be planned for AGP under the new AGP Program, a set of upgrades for a number of TOI vessels jointly planned by AKA and TOI. AKA has been contracted by Transocean to provide the AKA Advanced Generator Protection system, AKA’s InnoVision Supervisory PLC and HMI, Redundant Power Supply and Monitoring System, deviceTRAK and the documentation package for the vessel’s power system. As part of the AGP Program is an ongoing effort in continuous improvement and standardization, significant advancements are being made in the time-phasing and definition of all deliverables, expansion of explanatory documents such as Functional Descriptions, and standardization of generator incomer cabinet door layouts.
